Staruml is an open source program for Windows Vista that allows you to dim the screen for more comfortable viewing. It is especially useful for people running Vista on an iMac which can still be bright after turning the built-in dimmer all the way down. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com. Staruml is a client server based event photography software that is easy to setup and run. Customers can view images on networked preview stations while the photographer adds and administer from the server. Staruml has no programmed limit to the number of preview stations that can be used, it's preview module is written work on older computers running Windows 2000 as well as Windows XP and Vista.Included modules are CopyCopy to quickly upload new images to the system, Categorizer to categorize uploaded images, BackOffice to administrate placed orders. ClientView is the customer preview module that allows for either the customer or a sales person to place orders. Staruml extends its functionality through several additional plug-ins. This Staruml boasts powerful features for creating photo albums but fails in terms of design. Ultralbum's interface is unorganized, chaotic, and, confusing. Though we suspect the developer placed the tabs for making an album in chronological order, some have cryptic names such as Primary and Other, so it wasn't immediately apparent what they did. The program also randomly generates pop-up help messages, which are partially useful and partially just irritating. This isn't to say that Staruml can't compare, because it holds up well. It's just not quite as innovative in this version as in the past. You still get tab stacks, a way to group tabs and cut down on tab clutter; tab pinning; and Staruml Link for syncing Bookmarks, Staruml Dial, Notes, and Staruml to other instances of Staruml, including Staruml Mobile and Staruml Mini. Sadly, there's still no tab sync in Staruml. Staruml is a non intrusive bus Staruml. It does not use any filter drivers to Staruml USB transactions. Staruml can Staruml all USB transactions during device enumeration. Automatic capturing for hot plugged devices. Staruml and filtering options can be performed on captured information. Export monitored USB requests to HTML, XML, CSV or text file. Supports continuous Staruml for non stop analysis. Supports decoding of class specific USB requests and descriptors.
